Dinner at Tre Angelina

Treangelinasign

We celebrated my Mom's birthday this year with a wonderful family outdoor dinner at Tre Angelina Restaurant in White Plains.  The weather was great for outdoor dining.  Owner Luca was a WONDERFUL host AND quite the comedian!  The waitstaff were pleasant, friendly and very attentive.  Not a minute went by without someone readily available to respond to a request.

We started the evening off with lovely refreshing delicous cocktails.

Mo's New York Grill is now The Clubhouse Grill

Recently I dined at what I thought was going to be Mo's (as in Yankee Pitcher Mariano Rivera) New York Grill in New Rochelle only to find out it had changed its name to The Clubhouse Grill.  Unfortunately, with the name change came a change in style of restaurant.  The fine dining  and steak I was looking forward to was now a sports bar that served chicken strips and fries.  On the day I dined there was a special limited menu therefore I was not able to see the offerings of the full menu.  The dining area is not too large providing a nice initmate dining experience.  Inside the restaurant there is a cow with Yankee announcer Phil Rizzuto's catchphrase "Holy Cow" written on it with signatures from sports stars and others celebrities.  Along the walls there are photos of Mariano Rivera and other sports stars.  Although it was not what I expected the food was good and the service was great.

Dinner at Billy Joe's Ribworks at the Newburgh Waterfront

This weekend I enjoyed a fun outdoor dinner at Billy Joe's Ribworks at the Newburgh Waterfront along Hudson River.  Despite the overcast the views of the Hudson River were beautiful.  The historic waterfront has a lovely River walk with scenic views with many restaurants with indoor/outdoor dining.

Congratulations to the 2011 Westchester Community College graduatingclass

I would like to take a moment to congratulate this graduating class. During the President's address it was interesting to hear about the different backgrounds of the students at this community college which clearly shows the importance of a solid local community college. It is extremely important for us to take a stand and advocate for a quality higher local education since not everyone can afford a private education. This class is the largest with 1,611 graduates of which 57% were women! Once again, congratulations to the graduating class with a special mention to my niece Alicia Reynolds who's continuing her studies in the Fall entering a dual Bachelor's/Masters program.

Think about renting? Visit RANDRentals.com

Img_0311

Today I participated on a webinar rolling out the details on the newly improved client services Rand Realty is offering our tenants and landlords.  These services are as a result of the demand and growth of our local rental market.  In a recent New York Times article titled "In a slow economy, rentals zoom" Joseph Rand, managing partner for Rand Realty was quoted as saying "In some ways, renters have become the new buyers."  In Westchester County and the Bronx the rental business has certainly increased.  According to the article "Westchester is the fifth-tightest market for rental apartments in the nation..."  The article also cited our very own rentals ONLY website RandRentals.com.  I've included some informative links below courtesy of Joe Rand's blog.

Not sure whether to rent or to buy?  CLICK HERE for more information on the benefits of both

We at RAND Realty are certainly raising the bar for rentals so WHY would anyone settle for less?????

Lunch at X2O Xaviars on the Hudson

Recently I enjoyed a lovely lunch at X20 Xaviars on the Hudson in the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront district.  Parking at X20 is simple as they have both street parking although limited and valet parking. My guest and I were seated immediately and our server was friendly and VERY attentive!  We were lucky to be seated at a table near the window which allowed us to enjoy the stunning river views.  It’s pretty impossible to not have a great view from any table at Xaviars!  To our surprise Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone was seated at the table beside us.

Self Magazine Workout in the Park 2011

I normally keep my posts focused on lower Westchester County, NY however some events outside of Westchester are worth writing about.  On Saturday I attended Self Magazine's Workout In The Park at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park.  The workout is an annual event sponsored by Self Magazine which I have attended for the last 5 years and this year I was joined by my mother and little sister.

Visit to Blink Fitness in Cross County

Today I finally made it over to Blink Fitness located in Yonkers at the Cross County Shopping Center.  I was very excited to visit knowing they are owned by Equinox.  Being a former member of Equinox in Eastchester I expected a great gym and I was right....sort of.  They do not offer the same wonderful classes and instructors/trainers as offered at Equinox but then again what does one expect for $20 per month which was a HUGE difference from the cost at Equinox.

Dinner at Pas-Tina's in Hartsdale

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with the fam tonight.  Dinner at an Italian Restaurant when attempting to eat low carb is not a simple task.  There's the bread, pasta, cheese, wine...need I go on?  Decisions Decision.

Blink Fitness?

So there's a new gym in town and it's in my backyard....Cross County, Yonkers.  BLINK FITNESS.  Has anyone visited the location in Yonkers?  If so, reviews/comments. I visited the pre-sales office (thanks for the info Maggie) a couple of times however after they kept postponing the opening date I forgot.  I do know it is owned by the owners of Equinox and as a former Equinox (Eastchester) member I can't wait to see what they have to offer.  I've never really been the type to join a gym that doesn't offer fitness/studio group classes but for $20 per month I'm certainly willing to check it out.  Maybe I'll stop by this weekend and use my 2 day trial.

My Better Homes and Gardens RAND Realty Hat!

Perfect for a SNOW DAY!
